IC-R8600 - Universal Communications Receiver
The IC-R8600 is a wideband communications receiver covering the frequency range from 10 kHz to 3 GHz, enabling both listening and signal monitoring. It decodes a wide range of digital signals, and thanks to advanced FPGA circuitry, demodulated signals are captured clearly and precisely. With the optional remote control software for Windows® computers, the received frequency and spectrum display can be transmitted to any location over an IP network.

Super Wide Bandwidth: from 10 kHz to 3 GHz
The IC-R8600 decodes a variety of digital signals, such as:
- P25 (Phase 1), NXDN™, dPMR™, D-STAR, Japanese DCR (Digital Convenience Radio),
and also supports conventional analog signals, including: - USB, LSB, FSK, CW, AM, S-AM (Synchronous-AM), FM and WFM.
Covers the frequency range from 10 kHz to 3 GHz in 1 Hz steps.
RSSI Indicator with Accurate Measurements
The IC-R8600 offers various types of RSSI measurement: S-meter, dBμ, dBμ (emf) and dBm, with an accuracy of ±3 dB (within the 0.5-1100 MHz range).
Advanced FPGA Processing
The device uses FPGA and DSP technology for demodulation, decoding, and most of the signal processing. HF signals are digitized by a 14-bit A/D converter with a sampling rate of 122.88 MHz, which minimizes aliasing and image interference.
High-Quality Reception
The receiver features:
- 11 discrete RF bandpass filters for the HF bands and
- 13 bandpass filters for the VHF/UHF bands,
which ensures only the intended signals pass through while interference is rejected.
It offers: - +30 dBm IP3 and 105 dB of dynamic range at 14.1 MHz,
- +10 dBm IP3 at 144 MHz, and 0 dBm IP3 at 440 MHz.
Memory and Scan Functions
- 2000 memory channels divided into 100 groups.
- 100 scan skip channels and 50 pairs of program scan edges.
- Automatic frequency storage to memory (up to 200 channels).
Various scan modes include:
- program scan,
- priority scan,
- memory and mode scan,
- auto memory-write scan,
- fine scan with a small frequency step.
Advanced Display and Intuitive Operation
- 4.3-inch color touchscreen provides easy access to settings.
- Real-time spectrum display with waterfall function (up to 30 frames per second, 110 dB dynamic range, bandwidth up to ±2.5 MHz).
- Spectrum peak search function and the ability to select a frequency by tapping the spectrum.
Recording and Remote Functions
- Audio recording to an SD card (up to 270 hours on a 32 GB card).
- Screenshot capture function in PNG/BMP formats.
- Remote control via an IP network or USB cable using the optional RS-R8600 software.
