NEW MIDLAND XT RADIO LINE
Midland is introducing a new, complete line of handheld XT radios operating in the license-free PMR-446 standard.
The lineup includes 5 models plus 2 case sets enriched with additional accessories.
The line includes both very attractively priced options like the Midland X10 and X30, as well as advanced-feature models such as the Midland X50, X60 and X70.
The Adventure versions of the Midland X50 and X70 are cases containing 2 radios, headset microphones, chargers and batteries.
All the radios have carefully designed housings, attractive packaging, and, except for the entry-level X10, feature USB charging.
RANGE
Maximum range depends on terrain conditions and is greatest in open, flat areas.
Any obstacles such as trees, hills, and buildings reduce it.
Radio waves propagate particularly poorly inside complex metal structures and from within a car.
The average range in the city among buildings and obstacles does not exceed 1 or 2 km.
In sparsely built-up areas with scattered trees, a range of 4-6 km can be achieved.
In open areas with no obstacles between antennas, such as in the mountains, contacts at a distance of 10 km or more do occur.
