Kit for building a Beverage receiving antenna.
The Beverage is a directional antenna; in its basic version, it is a wire longer than half a wavelength λ, placed above the ground and terminated with a matched load equal to the characteristic impedance.
This antenna is characterized by high directivity but a very low power gain, which is approximately -20 to -10 dBi.
The Beverage is a receiving antenna! It must not be used as a transmitting antenna.
Directivity increases with the length of the antenna. Directivity starts to develop at an antenna length of just 0.25 wavelength, becomes more significant at an antenna length equal to one wavelength, and keeps improving until the antenna reaches a length of about two wavelengths.
For antennas longer than twice the wavelength, directivity no longer increases, because the currents in the antenna can no longer stay in phase with the radio wave.

The kit does not include the antenna wire - it must be purchased separately.
