PTT and CW control is carried out via the computer's USB port through the cable included with the interface.
In some transceivers, a large jack / small jack adapter is required to use CW.
The interface provides complete galvanic isolation between the TRX and the computer.
The isolation is achieved using audio transformers providing a bandwidth of up to 4 kHz.
For PTT and CW, isolation is achieved using optocouplers.
The device has additional protections that ensure incorrect plug connection does not cause any damage to the TRX, computer, or interface.
The interface works with any digital mode software such as MixW, DM780, or JT65 Comfort and allows operation in modes such as:
