The FTX-1 Field is a modern, portable SDR transceiver offering output power up to 6 W when powered by the built-in 6400 mAh lithium-ion battery. This high-capacity battery provides up to 9 hours of operation in SSB mode on HF bands and up to 8 hours in FM mode on VHF/UHF bands (at a 6-6-48 duty cycle). The battery is conveniently charged via a USB-C port. When using an external 13.8V DC power supply, the maximum output power increases to 10 W.
The Yaesu FTX-1 features a wideband receiver operating continuously from 30 kHz to 174 MHz and from 400 MHz to 470 MHz, also covering the airband.
The transmitter allows operation on the amateur bands: 160m, 80m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m, 6m, 2m and 70cm. For users in the United Kingdom, the 4m band (70.00-70.50 MHz) is also available. Information regarding the 60m band (5 MHz) is currently awaited from the manufacturer.
The Yaesu FTX-1 stands out on the market with its unique function of simultaneously monitoring a selected HF band and a selected VHF/UHF band. Additionally, it allows monitoring of two arbitrary VHF/UHF frequencies (e.g. VHF/UHF, VHF/VHF, or UHF/UHF), which significantly expands operational capabilities, including working with satellite transponders.
Support for the digital C4FM mode provides access to an extensive network of linked VHF/UHF repeaters both nationally and worldwide. The built-in APRS function, in turn, enhances communication capabilities during mobile and portable operation.
