YAESU FTM-3100E
The FTM-3100E is a compact VHF-FM mobile transceiver measuring just 155 x 42 x 145.5 mm and weighing 1.3 kg. The unit offers a maximum transmit power of 65 watts, reducible to 5 or 30 watts. Thanks to its rugged design with the FACC (Funnel Air-Convection Conductor) system, the unit requires only a small cooling fan and can operate in temperatures ranging from -20 to 60°C.
The transceiver is equipped with a clear LCD display. It has 220 memory channels that can be labeled alphanumerically. The display can toggle between showing frequency and channel name.
Built-in DCS and CTCSS encoder/decoders provide flexibility in communication. The receiver is equipped with a tuned preselector filter that guarantees excellent immunity to high-power signals. The kit includes a power cable, a USB cable, an MH-48A6JA DTMF microphone, and a mounting bracket.
FTM-3100E application description
The FTM-3100E delivers mobile VHF communication at the highest power level. With 65 W of transmit power, the transceiver provides functionality that other units only achieve with an external amplifier. With 3 watts of audio power, it's easy to use even in noisy environments, both in the car and at outdoor events.
The CTCSS and DCS filter functions enable interference-free communication and precise addressing of individual users or entire groups. Tuning is possible in steps of 5, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 50, or 100 kHz, allowing the unit to be adapted to national specifications and band plans. Signal reception extends well beyond the 2 m band, covering the 136–174 MHz range.
With dimensions of 155 x 42 x 145.5 mm and a weight of 1.3 kg, the FTM-3100E is compact yet rugged enough for the job. It can be powered by a 13.8 V / 13 A power supply, a mobile battery, or while operating in the field, for example at a rally or expedition.
