The AVRT11 is a mobile iGate/RF DIGIpeater gateway with a built-in GPRS module, GPS and TNC, designed to operate on the APRS network.
The kit includes:
- AVRT11 - complete tracker/iGate,
- external LCD display showing received information
- external GPS antenna measuring 25 x 25 mm,
- external GSM antenna,
- a set of connection cables for ICOM and Yaesu car transceivers,
- a DATA (PS2) cable for direct connection of the AVRT6 to a radio (e.g. FT-897),
- DC power cable,
- programming cable for the AVRT11 APRS tracker.
The AVRT11 APRS iGate/tracker/DIGIpeater has been fitted with an external, color LCD display that shows in real time the radio packets received, along with information on the source station's distance and direction relative to itself.
Packets received over the radio are forwarded to the APRS network via the GPRS module (a SIM card is required and not included in the kit).
The AVRT11 is built around an AVR ATmega128 processor.
The device requires a 5V power supply (it can be powered via USB) and does not have a built-in battery.
The built-in GPS allows operation up to an altitude of 50 km. The onboard temperature and pressure sensors continuously provide data that enriches the transmitted frame.
An additional interesting feature is the built-in Bluetooth module, which allows the device to be paired, e.g. with a phone, to monitor received APRS information.
